Apple Crumble


  • 300g plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 175g brown sugar
  • 200g unsalted butter


  • 4/5 peeled, cored and sliced apples
  • 50g brown sugar
  • pinch of cinnamon


  1. Preheat oven to 180C/gas 4
  2. Mix flour, salt and 175g sugar in a bowl
  3. Add butter and rub in until the mixture looks like bread crumbs
  4. In a bowl, mix the apples, 50g sugar and cinnamon
  5. Grease an ovenproof dish and spoon mixture into the bottom
  6. Sprinkle crumble on the top
  7. Bake for 40-45 mins until golden brown
